About the Role

At Redtail Overland, cabinetry is an essential part of creating an exceptional living environment inside our expedition vehicles. We're seeking a skilled cabinet maker who takes pride in precision, beautiful materials, and consistently high-quality work.

This is a hands-on position involving the fabrication and assembly of custom cabinetry, solid wood face frames, doors, and drawers. You'll work from 3D models and collaborate with our production team to meet demanding quality standards.

What You'll Do

Cabinet Fabrication & Assembly

• Select solid wood for face frames based on grain direction and material characteristics.
• Mill face frames, dados, and Domino joinery to dimensions specified in drawings.
• Glue and assemble face frames, maintaining squareness and alignment.
• Dry-fit cabinet cases and make necessary adjustments for fit and accuracy.
• Glue and assemble cabinet cases and attach face frames.
• Sand face frames flush to cabinet cases and route edges as required.
• Apply wood stains evenly and consistently to achieve high-quality finishes.
• Complete final sanding and preparation for stain.
• Mill, miter, glue, and sand 1/8-inch solid wood edging for doors and drawer faces.

Production & Shop Responsibilities

• Track time spent on each job using a provided iPad.
• Mark assigned tasks complete in the production system.
• Communicate proactively with management when tasks are running behind schedule.
• Complete nine hours of work per scheduled day.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including daily sweeping and vacuuming.
• Empty dust collection equipment as needed.
• Dispose of scrap materials, cardboard, and shop waste appropriately.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum three years of relevant professional woodworking or cabinetry experience required.
• Experience fabricating and assembling custom cabinetry.
• Proficiency building solid wood face frames.
• Experience installing and aligning cabinet doors.
• Strong sanding, finishing-preparation, and detail-work skills.
• Ability to read 3D models and work accurately to specified dimensions.
